Being online makes things difficult. Particularly for studying online and organizing your (seemingly) endless amounts of tasks and responsibilities. I imagine nearly every student has been exposed to the infinite amount of websites that continually promote their services to organize your activities and homework assignments. Programs like Zoom, Google Meets, Google Drive, Microsoft Teams, and many more have been popular during these times. With the current pandemic, school/education-related applications have been on the rise. No one wants hundreds of different applications that they have to download on their computers. All that does, is make things even more complicated and leaves our computer even more unorganized than before. Here is a list of the various applications that I found to be best for organizing our lives in this new normal era:
1. Notion
Notion is an excellent platform to get started and get organized. It allows for full customization and provides a wide variety of starter templates to get you going. The great part about notion is its customization options. It gives you a great incentive to get things done, and check them off on Notion. You can make your board however you like; whether you want minimalistic or anime aesthetic, the options are there. It has many elements and widgets that you can add to your board such as tables, Spotify playlists, calendars, PDFs, even features for raw JavaScript. The possibilities are truly endless with Notion, so if you are willing to put in a bit of effort to design, you can start organizing your life aesthetically today.
2. myHomework
MyHomework is a simple cloud-based platform used to mainly keep track of homework. It is very self-intuitive to understand, so if you're not as tech-savvy this might be a good option for you. What I personally really like about this app is the priorities feature. It is very good about organizing the homework based on the due date and the priority that you give it. You give the program your schedule and it automatically organizes your work accordingly. Due to the fact that it is cloud-based, you are able to sync all your inputted assignments to your phone and tablet seamlessly.
3. Evernote
Evernote is a very commonly known note-taking app that organizes your notes in a clear and aesthetically pleasing fashion. There are many features and widgets available to paste into your notes to make them dynamic for any class or project. You can organize all your notes into individual notebooks so that you can separate your school life from your social life. Similarly to myHomework, it has a cloud feature with an app that lets you sync your notes to your phone or tablet. Although it is a bit restricted when it comes to design options, the base layout is quite pleasing to look at. I would recommend Evernote to those who primarily just take notes and are tired of the boring format of the iOS or Android note-taking applications.
